About Me

Hey there, my name is Bree Dawn, and this is a little about me.

I’m a writer, although I wasn’t always. As a kid, writing was torture; I hated it with every fiber of my being. But, around high school, this hatred quickly morphed into a deep desire to craft stories and explore unique worlds. I can’t pinpoint the exact moment when I knew that I wanted to be writer, but I do remember feeling late to the game because I hadn’t grown up writing stories like *everyone* else. But, despite my initial worries, God continually showed me that writing was what I was supposed to be doing. I went on to finish my very first novella and, somewhere along the way, I realized that it didn’t matter if I was a writer in my childhood. In fact, my childhood was exactly the way it was supposed to be because everything that happened was preparing me to become a writer, and that’s what really matters.

I’m a story consumer. Ever since I was little, I’ve devoured stories. Back then, those stories consisted mostly of the Nancy Drew collection and American Girl Doll novellas, which I eagerly checked out of the library on a weekly basis. However, as I got older, I started reading stories that were a little darker, stories like The Hunger Games, Divergent, and Unwind. This the beginning of my long-standing love for the dystopian genre, which is only ever overshadowed by my love for all things vampires.

I’m a dreamer. This might just be a 4w5 thing, but I really connect with the obscure-but-aesthetic vibe of being a dreamer, like the knowledge that you’ll miss a moment long before the moment even occurs, the desire to always admire the moon and dance in the rain, and the opinion that there should be a playlist for each and every emotion, situation, and season of life.

I’m a Christian. This is truly the most important part of who I am because without God, I have no idea where I would be or what I would be doing. It is because of Him that I have found a hope to keep smiling, even in the dark times. He says that He loves me, and when all else fails, that will still ring true…and that’s enough for me.
