Since I’m seeing Taylor Swift live later this year (I cannot believe I get to write that sentence and IT’S REAL), I thought that it was a good time to do this tag. I found it forever ago on We Heart It, and immediately knew that I had to do it. Unfortunately, it’s been sitting in my drafts folder for an obscene amount of time, so let’s just jump in, shall we?

Your Favorite Song
My favorite song is literally changing CONSTANTLY. There is no consistency, but currently it’s Wonderland. I discovered it kind of by accident as I was making a playlist, and it has lived on repeat in my brain ever since.
We found Wonderland
You and I got lost in it
And we pretended it could last forever, eh, eh
Your Not-So Favorite Song
The Swifties are gonna come for me, but….Shake it Off. I know that it’s basically a classic now, but every time it comes on the radio, I just wanna skip it.
Can’t stop, won’t stop grooving
It’s like I got this music
In my mind
Saying, “It’s gonna be alright.”
A Song that Reminds You of Someone You Care About
I convinced one of my friends to listen to No Body, No Crime, and now she’s obsessed. Whenever I recommend other Taylor Swift songs to her, they inevitably get compared to “the murder song.” So, long story short, I now think of said friend every time this song comes on, and that is 100% okay with me.
Good thing my daddy made me get a boating license when I was 15
And I’ve cleaned enough houses to know how to cover up a scene
A Song that Reminds You of Someone You’d Rather Forget
While it wasn’t the same type of toxic, All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) definitely reminds me of a toxic relationship that I oftentimes wish I could forget. However, I cannot fully bring myself to say that I want to forget about that person because, while it’s hard to look back and realize that it was toxic, I learned a lot from them. They taught me some really hard, but important life lessons, and for that I am still grateful.
Just between us, did the love affair maim you all too well?
Just between us, do you remember it all too well?
Just between us, I remember it (Just between us), all too well
The First Taylor Song You Heard
I didn’t really get into Taylor Swift until her Folklore era, so I’m not sure. My best guess, though, is either Love Story (Taylor’s Version) or We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Taylor’s Version).
This love is difficult, but it’s real
Don’t be afraid, we’ll make it out of this mess
It’s a love story, baby, just say, “Yes”
I used to think that we were forever ever
And I used to say never say never
A Song You Wish She’d Written for You
I thought this would be a lot harder, but then it hit me: Begin Again (Taylor’s Version). I really discovered this song last year, and it truly felt like she’d written this song specifically for me. I was going through a lot, and this song was everything that I needed it to be in that season of life.
But you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it’s strange that you think I’m funny ’cause he never did
A Song You Wish Was a Single
I feel like Karma would have been a fun single. It probably wouldn’t have made any sense as a single, but it would’ve been fun.
You’re terrified to look down
‘Cause if you dare, you’ll see the glare
Of everyone you burned just to get there
A Song that Makes You Cry
I cried the first time I heard Marjorie. I’d recently lost my grandmother, and hearing Taylor sing about her own grandmother just…it kind of broke me. I related to the lyrics in a way that made me emotional, and I now think of my grandmother every time I hear this song.
What died didn’t stay dead
What died didn’t stay dead
You’re alive, you’re alive in my head
A Song that Reminds You of Someone You Miss
You’re On Your Own, Kid makes me miss the younger version of myself. Since it’s all about growing up and that summer nostalgia, it makes me miss the girl I was when I was young. I know this is kinda like cheating, but I think it still counts.
‘Cause there were pages turned with the bridges burned
Everything you lose is a step you take
So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it
You’ve got no reason to be afraid
The Song You’d Choose for Your First Dance
I don’t care if it’s cliché, but the answer is Lover. This song is literally made for first dances, and if I were to choose a Taylor song for that occasion, it would be this one.
My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue
All’s well that ends well to end up with you
A Song that Makes You Feel Badass
I mean, literally any song from Reputation would count for this, but I guess I’ll narrow it down to I Did Something Bad and Vigilante Sh**. These are both complete girl boss songs that would make for a great entrance to my underground lair.
They say I did something bad
Then why’s it feel so good?
While he was doing lines
And crossing all of mine
Someone told his white collar crimes to the FBI
The Song That Best Describes You
I think there are a few songs that best describe me. Afterglow and Out of the Woods are two of my most relatable songs because they translate my anxiety into words that I can share with others. The other song is The Lakes because it’s literally my entire storytelling soul expressed in three minutes and thirty-one seconds.
Tell me that you’re still mine
Tell me that we’ll be just fine
Even when I lose my mind
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods yet?
Take me to the Lakes where all the poets went to die
I don’t belong and, my beloved, neither do you
A Song That Grew on You
When I first heard Betty, I hated it. The harmonica was an absolute no for me, and I didn’t like the country vibes. However, I absolutely fell in love when Taylor played Betty – Live Version. So, that song definitely grew on me in a very unexpected way.
Will you kiss me on the porch in front of all your stupid friends?
If you kiss me
Will it be just like I dreamed it? Will it patch your broken wings?
A Song that Gives You Strength
This was a hard one, but I think Tolerate It is my answer. This song has a lot to say about realizing that maybe you settled for something that wasn’t good for you. I don’t think we need to be prideful about the love that we deserve, but recognizing that we deserve to be loved like Christ loves us is so important. And…I think this song really portrays that realization in a brutally honest, but necessary, way.
I know my love should be celebrated
But you tolerate it
A Song that Makes You Want to Dance
The one song that will always make me dance is 22 (Taylor’s Version). It is a staple for every girl’s dance arsenal, and I am no exception.
Yeah, we’re happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time
It’s miserable and magical, oh yeah
A Song You Sing in the Shower
I really love singing Anti-Hero (Acoustic Version) in the shower. It’s my favorite version of the song, and it just hits different for me. But, my Taylor Swift shower song usually changes multiple times throughout the week, if I’m being honest.
I’ll stare directly at the sun, but never in the mirror
It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero
Your Favorite Track 5
I think my favorite track 5 is All You Had To Do Was Stay. The lyrics are so deep while the beat and melody work together to create an absolute bop. Basically, it’s a masterpiece, and I love it.
I’ve been picking up the pieces of the mess you made
People like you always want back the love they pushed aside
But people like me are gone forever when you say goodbye
Your Favorite Opening Track
I’m probably biased because Folklore was the first album of Taylor’s that I experienced, but The 1 is, and forevermore will be, my favorite opening track. It was the song that really got me through quarantine, and it set the tone for the entire Folklore era perfectly.
I’m doing good, I’m on some new sh**
Been saying “yes” instead of “no”
I thought I saw you at the bus stop, I didn’t though
Your Favorite Closing Song
This one was surprisingly easy to choose because I believe in Long Live supremacy. I just love how nostalgic this song is, and that it was Taylor’s way of asking someone to please remember her.
If you have children some day
When they point to the pictures
Please tell them my name
Your Favorite Collab
I have two collaborations that I really loved. The first is Exile ft. Bon Iver because it is hands-down the best collaboration Taylor has ever done. The second is Renegade by Big Red Machine because that song means a lot to me. As someone who has anxiety, Renegade is a compilation of my worst fears. However, I think it’s important to face those fears because loving someone with any form of mental health problem isn’t easy. It takes a lot of work, and this song offers a glimpse into the perspective that I may never experience because I feel like the person she’s singing about.
I think I’ve seen this film before
And I didn’t like the ending
You’re not my homeland anymore
So what am I defendin’ now?
Is it insensitive for me to say
Get your sh** together
So I can love you?
Is it really your anxiety
That stops you from giving me everything
Or do you just not want to?
A Song That Makes You Feel Nostalgic
Most of Taylor’s discography makes me nostalgic, but Enchanted is always one that comes to mind. It’s the epitome of your first love in high school, and that’s a feeling that sticks with you, even when you’re all grown up. Another song that makes me a little nostalgic is Invisible. This one was a fairly recent discovery, but it definitely makes me think of all my teenage crushes and how I thought that maybe we stood a chance.
Please don’t be in love with someone else
Please don’t have somebody waiting on you
But if you only knew me
We could be a beautiful
Miracle
Unbelievable
Instead of just invisible
A Song You Need to Listen to More
Besides most of her debut album??? Okay fine, I really need to listen to New Romantics because my gut says that Taylor might play this one on tour, so I need to be PREPARED and READY TO SING EVERY WORD.
We’re so young but we’re on the road to ruin
We play dumb but we know exactly what we’re doing
The Song of Your Favorite Music Video
Taylor has so many amazing music videos, so this question is a crime. But, if I must choose, I have to go with You Belong With Me. It’s aged SO WELL, and it’s absolutely the most iconic with their little signs.
If you could see that I’m the one who understands you
Been here all along, so why can’t you see?
You belong with me, you belong with me
A Song that Helps You Fall Asleep
I actually don’t listen to music while falling asleep anymore, but Epiphany – The Long Pond Studio Sessions usually did the trick. It’s one of the most soothing songs, and it always relaxes me. Another good song for falling asleep is Sweet Nothing, but that song really had to grow on me first.
With you, I serve
With you, I fall down
Outside, they’re push and shoving
You’re in the kitchen humming
All that you ever wanted from me was
Sweet nothing
A Song from Your Favorite Album
My favorite album is Folklore (shocker, I know), so I’ll go with Cardigan – Cabin in Candlelight Version. It’s a classic, it’s iconic, and it’s one of the best songs on the album.
I knew you
Tried to change the ending
Peter losing Wendy
I, I knew you
A Song that Reminds You of Your High School Crush
Definitely Fifteen (Taylor’s Version). I think this is the song that perfectly captures the intensity of crushes in high school when you’re young and it all feels new and exciting and terrifying. Besides, didn’t we all swear that we were going to marry our high school crush?
‘Cause when you’re fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You’re gonna believe them
And when you’re fifteen, don’t forget to look before you fall
I’ve found time can heal most anything
A Song with Your Favorite Lyric
Taylor writes such incredible lyrics that I hate the idea of choosing just one, so I’m cheating and choosing two. The first is from Ours (see below). I love this lyric because it’s one of the most honest. The second is from The Great War (see below). This is most of the bridge, but I’m counting it as one lyric because this is my blog and I can do what I want. Every time this part comes on, you better believe I absolutely just belt it with my whole heart. This whole song is such a great metaphor for the tumultuous nature of some relationships, and I love this part so, so much because it’s literally poetry.
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard
It turned into something bigger
Somewhere in the haze
Got a sense I’d been betrayed
Your finger on my hairpin triggers
A Song You Request the DJ to Play at Parties
I don’t usually request songs because I don’t usually go to parties. However, I will pretend for this hypothetical scenario. If I were to request a song, it’d probably be Don’t Blame Me. It’s got a killer beat, so I think it’d be a fun one to dance to with my friends (who are definitely with me at this hypothetical party).
Don’t blame me
Love made me crazy
If it doesn’t, you ain’t doing it right
A Song You Can’t Bring Yourself to Listen to
You Are in Love. I’m terrified that I won’t like it, but I also know nothing about it. That being said, I also haven’t heard How You Get The Girl, so really I’m just procrastinating a full run-through of 1989…
And you understand now why they lost their minds and fought the wars
And why I’ve spent my whole life trying to put it into words
I want you for worse or for better
I would wait forever and ever
Broke your heart, I’ll put it back together
I would wait forever and ever
A Song that Sets Your Soul on Fire
I have no real explanation for this one, but Champagne Problems. It’s just one of those songs that makes me scream the lyrics as though I’m the girl who said no. From the minute I heard this song for the first time, I was in love. The bridge is some of Taylor’s best work, and I truly hope we all get to scream it together on the Eras Tour.
I never was ready, so I watch you go
Sometimes you just don’t know the answer
‘Til someone’s on their knees and asks you
“She would’ve made such a lovely bride
What a shame she’s fu**ed in the head,” they said
I’m not going to tag anyone, so if you see this and want to do it, please do. Just tag me so I can see it and we can scream about Taylor Swift together!
